Shlomo gave up. [He refrained] from determining the weight of these vessels because there were very many, and [therefore] he ceased to determine their weight.⁶⁴Targum renders וינח as “he hid [=ואצנע],” implying that Shlomo prepared more than was needed and put away the extra vessels for future use. II Divrei Hayomim 4:18 implies that Shlomo made more vessels than needed.
